This strawberry crumble is an absolute family favorite. It’s especially delicious when made using fresh, in-season strawberries. The strawberries are mixed with cornstarch before baking to help the juices thicken into a delicious strawberry sauce.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

Strawberries: This recipe uses fresh strawberries, but frozen strawberries can also be used. Frozen strawberries do not need to be thawed before use.

Granulated sugar: Brown sugar could be used in place of the granulated sugar for a more caramel flavor.

Cornstarch: The cornstarch helps thicken the juices released from the strawberries while baking, resulting in a delicious thickened strawberry sauce.

Vanilla extract: The vanilla extract could be substituted with 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence.

Oats: Use traditional rolled oats.

All-purpose flour: Standard all-purpose flour is used in this recipe.

Brown sugar: The brown sugar is used for the crumble topping.

Salted butter: The salted butter can be substituted with unsalted butter. If using unsalted butter, you may like to add a pinch of salt to the crumble topping mixture.

Ground cinnamon: The cinnamon adds a lightly spiced flavor to the crumble.

Baking powder: Not to be confused with baking soda.
