Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Strawberries: This recipe uses fresh strawberries, but frozen strawberries can also be used. Frozen strawberries do not need to be thawed before use.
  • Granulated sugar: Brown sugar could be used in place of the granulated sugar for a more caramel flavor.
  • Cornstarch: The cornstarch helps thicken the juices released from the strawberries while baking, resulting in a delicious thickened strawberry sauce.
  • Vanilla extract: The vanilla extract could be substituted with 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence.
  • Oats: Use traditional rolled oats.
  • All-purpose flour: Standard all-purpose flour is used in this recipe.
  • Brown sugar: The brown sugar is used for the crumble topping.
  • Salted butter: The salted butter can be substituted with unsalted butter. If using unsalted butter, you may like to add a pinch of salt to the crumble topping mixture.
  • Ground cinnamon: The cinnamon adds a lightly spiced flavor to the crumble.
  • Baking powder: Not to be confused with baking soda.
