How to Become a Woman After God’s Own Heart

In 1 Samuel 13:14, David is mentioned as being a man after God’s heart. But what does being a woman after God’s heart mean?

The Bible gives many examples of women who put their trust in the Lord and lived according to His Word and will.

From Ester to Naomi to Deborah, these women are an example of how to live our lives for the glory of God.

Here are five things you can do on your journey to becoming a woman after God’s own heart.

1. Seek Wisdom from the Bible

If you want to be a woman after God’s own heart, you should first seek wisdom from the Bible. The Bible contains stories, teachings, and knowledge that can help guide us as we strive to live out our faith.

Take time each day to read and meditate on scripture. This will help you focus on living your life according to God’s will instead of following the ways of the world around you.

The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight. – Proverbs 4:7

2. Be Intentional About Prayer

Prayer is an essential part of developing our relationship with God. Through prayer, we can express our joys and sorrows, ask for wisdom and guidance, and share our gratitude for all He has done for us.

Being intentional about prayer allows us to stay connected with Him no matter where we are or what we are going through.

3. Put Your Trust in Him

You must always remember to put your trust in God. When times are tough or things don’t go as planned, it can be easy to worry or doubt that everything will work out.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. – Proverbs 3:5-6

We must remember that nothing happens outside His plan, and He promises never to leave or forsake us.

Put your faith in Him even when things seem uncertain. He will provide all we need if we only have faith and trust in Him.

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. – Deuteronomy 31:6

4. Be A Light For Others

Be a light for others by showing them love and compassion like Jesus (Yahusha) did with those around him during his ministry here on earth.

Make sure you keep your eyes focused on Jesus (Yahusha) so He can lead you down the path He has prepared for you.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. – John 13:34-35

5. Seek Out Meaningful Relationships

God created us to be social people, and having meaningful relationships with each other is a great way to stay close to Him.

Surrounding ourselves with people who love God too can help steer us toward becoming women after God’s own heart by providing encouragement, support, and accountability.

Final Words on Becoming a Woman After God’s Own Heart

By seeking out wisdom from His Word, putting your trust in Him even when times are hard, and being a light for others on their journey, you will be well on your way toward living a life pleasing unto Him.
