This strawberry dump cake has to be one of the easiest desserts around. It required only 3 simple ingredients, and takes just a few minutes to put together before the oven does the rest of the work.
¾cup(1 ½ sticks) cold salted buttersliced into thin squares
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 10.5 x 7.5 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
Pour the strawberry pie filling into the base of the baking dish.
Sprinkle the vanilla cake mix evenly over the strawberry pie filling. Top with the sliced butter arranged in a single layer.
Bake the cake for 40-45 minutes, or until lightly golden and the strawberry filling is bubbling. Allow to sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Rather than using sliced cold butter over the cake mix, the butter can be melted and drizzled over the cake mix, if preferred.
The cake layer will still be quite soft when first removed from the oven, however it will firm up slightly as it cools.
This dump cake can be served warm or at room temperature.
This dump cake is delicious served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
